What a year for our Blade team here at the Dakota Spirit arena. Some of the State tournaments maybe didn’t turn out the way we wanted them to, but there is nothing wrong with second. I have never seen more tournaments won in one year by all the teams. We have so much to be proud of. Starting with our Mini Mites, then our Mites who both have had great winning years. Each team won tournaments and have many great years to come. Our Squirt team had a good year winning about half their games and finishing 4th in 3 tournaments. The Pee Wee team had a long year only winning 1 game during the season. It appears that they were waiting for the State Tournament. They finished second in the State tournament in Langdon, in front of the home fans. The Bantams also only won 1 game during the season with their team also consisting of Pee Wees that had to move up so they had enough for a team. They went to the State Tournament in Watford City and came out with the State Championship. Our girls team had a great year and they went into the State Tourney with high hopes. They also came out with a State Championship trophy. Finally our Jr Gold team had a great year also. They finished first in the Grand Forks Tourney, first in the Jr Gold league, tied for first in the Canadian league and second in the State Tournament. They still have to play for the Canadian Championship with McGregor.

That is a fabulous year for our teams. We are proud of all teams and hope they can continue the good work next year.

The hockey banquet is scheduled for April 4th at the Legion at 5:30. Make your plans to be there for it. Thank you to all players and parents for a super year and it looks like we have many more coming up!
